You can only nest a few IF statements (7 I think) so if you have more than 7 commodity names then IF is not the way to go.

A better solution is to set up a table on sheet2 with 2 columns. Column A has the commodity name, column B gas the price (or whatever it is)

Then, assuming your table is in A1:B10 and your commodity value to be compared was in A1 on the first sheet you would use a VLOOKUP folmula instead of the IF formula as follows:

=VLOOKUP(A1, sheet2!A1:B10,2,false)

you will get a #n/a error if your commodity is not in the table at all, otherwise you should get the price back.
